Darrell Plank Memorial 5k Walk/ Run

The MCFR Firehouse Bash 5K is more than just a race — it’s a community event centered around family, education, and honoring the memory of Darrell Plank, who lost his life in the line of duty on May 23, 2017, while serving with the Macon County Fire Department.

The day includes a chip-timed 5K run/walk along with activities for all ages at the firehouse. Attendees can enjoy CPR and choking classes, firefighter demonstrations, a bounce house and water slide for kids, food, and more — all free to the public.

This event is designed to bring the community together for a meaningful and enjoyable day while honoring a local hero and supporting the firefighters who continue to serve.
